Setup UPS

To enable UPS real-time feature for your online store, you will have to register with UPS.COM and request a XML access key and also an account number with valid payment information.

To start, visit the My UPS sign up page at www.ups.com/myups/registration. Review the service agreement terms and conditions; if you wish to proceed, click Accept at the bottom of the page. On the next page, fill in basic contact information such as name, street address, telephone number, and e-mail address. The final step is to establish a username and password.

• Get Developer's License Key

  Once you have a My UPS account, register their online tools.

  Log onto your My UPS account and then visit http://www.ups.com/e_comm_access/laServ?loc=en_US

  or select the link Get OnLine Tools on your MY UPS default page. This will lead you to another service agreement you must accept to continue.

  After you've registered with their online tools division, you'll receive an e-mail with a developer's license key.

  The developer's license key has two purposes:

  first, it gives you access to all the UPS documentation for implementing their online tools

  and second, it is needed to retrieve a UPS Access Key which, in turn, is required to actually communicate with the UPS web services.

• Get Access Key

  Once you have completed the developer registration, use your user name and password to login.

  Keep your user name and password handy as you will need it along with your XML access key to query the database!

  After logging in, click on the "Get Access Key" option on the navigation menu on the left side of the screen.

  The "Get Access Key" screen will appear asking you which type of key your are requesting.

  Choose "XML Access Key". Before you will be able to receive your XML access key,

  you will need to get a Developer's Key from the e-mail you should have received after registering.

  Submit the form and check your e-mail for the XML Access Key.

• Setup an Account

  After logging in MY UPS, click on the link Open a UPS Account in the area at the left.

  Answer the application questions to determine which account fits your specific needs

  After completing the online application, you can begin using your account right away.
